Frequently Asked Questions

What are your measures and procedures for good hygiene?

Every single employee at The Nail Pageant understands the importance of this issue and must satisfy these standards of sanitation.

All metal implements are sterilized after every client in a disinfectant machine. Management performs daily inspections of all stations, products, and disinfectants, to ensure all guidelines are followed. If you are uncertain about these procedures being performed during your service at our salon, please contact us through the email address provided.

Why are my cuticles so dry?

Dry, thick cuticles are the most common problems around. Chemicals, the environment, nail-biting, or simply picking at them, can all contribute to this problem. Besides being unattractive, dry cuticles can also lead to hangnails.

The greatest damage to cuticles simply comes from a lack of attention. Most people don’t consider at-home maintenance important and figure that a trip to the salon will be the ultimate cure.

While we have our popular paraffin wax treatment available, here are a few easy suggestions you might want to try at home:

* Leave cuticle-oil in your handbag and apply regularly.
* Use protective gloves when washing dishes.
* Apply lotion after a bath or when your skin is still damp.

What is the difference between gel nails and acrylic nails?

Gels and acrylics nails are similar because both can be used to extend the length of the nails and make them stronger and beautiful. One advantage of gels nails is that they are odorless unlike acrylic. However, acrylic can be used to create 3D patterns such as flowers that would present a more unique design. Both can also be applied over the natural nail or over artificial nail tips.

For habitual nail-biters, gel or acrylic extensions would represent the perfect way to kick the habit, as these materials cannot be bitten through.

All our nail technicians are specially trained in the most cutting-edge techniques for gel and acrylics to ensure that you get the best result.
